Essential Tape Counter Belt for the Original Sinclair 128K +2 (Grey)
A common mistake during a Spectrum +2 restoration is only replacing the main drive belt. If your tape counter isn’t turning, or if your tape deck feels sluggish, it is likely that this secondary small belt has perished or turned to “goo.”

Compatibility:
This belt is designed exclusively for the Grey Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2. Note: The later Black +2A and +2B models use a different internal mechanism that typically only requires a single large belt.
Restorer’s Advice:
If you are opening your Grey +2 to replace the smaller belt, always replace both the large and small belts at the same time. This ensures the entire Datacorder mechanism is balanced and running at the correct pitch. Ensure all pulleys are cleaned with IPA before installation to remove any traces of the old rubber.
